Discover life on Grange Farm

Life on a working farm
Our family's story at Grange Farm began in 1953, when we first moved here and started farming. The farmhouse itself has a rich history, having previously served as the local vicarage. Today, the farm is home to around 500 sheep, with the majority being traditional Swaledales, a breed well-suited to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales landscape.
The cottages also have a fascinating heritage. Originally a cattle shed and a traditional hay barn, the building was later used to house a much-loved farm dog named Keel, who inspired the name of Keel Cottage. During the barn's conversion in 2005, an extension was added to complete Grange Cottage, transforming these historic farm buildings into the comfortable holiday cottages enjoyed by guests today.
From the comfort of your cottage window, you can witness the abundant wildlife that calls Grange Farm home. Keep an eye out for majestic deer, a variety of bird species, and playful hares. Our farm offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and observe its rhythms firsthand, making every stay a memorable one
"The view out the lounge window was as good as any film, watching the song birds, up to 5 roe deer, foxes and badgers"
